vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap Generator

Sorry if I ask in the wrong forum. My questions are:

1. I am using Vbseo on my site. Should i install vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap Generator?

2.Is there anyways to make vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap Generator works with vbportal which is in the root directory?

1. Installing vbseo google yahoo sitemap will help your site to get crawled better so installing is a better option.
2. i never tried vbportal thats why i cannot comment on it.

We strongly recommend to install vBSEO Sitemap Generator additionally to vBSEO.

To include vbportal URLs into sitemap, you should either create your own addon module (similar to existing addon for vbadvanced, php knowledge is required) or just manually add all vbportal pages to "extra-urls.txt" file in vbseo_sitemap folder.

I do not know php so might be I will manually add vbportal pages.

I installed vBseo Google/yahoo sitemap generator already and I have one question.

In the htaccess for Vbseo

you have one line:

RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]

And htaccess for generator you also ask me to add this

RewriteRule ^(sitemap.*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]

Do I have to add two lines above or just one of theme?

you don't have to add this line since it is included into vBSEO's .htaccess file by default.

Can I download vBSEO Google / Yahoo Sitemap Generator from someplace besides vbulletin.com?

Having people download it from vbulletin.org confirms that they legally own a copy of vBulletin, since only lincensed vBulletin owners can download there.

O.K. I installed the google and yahoo sitemap generator. I scheduled the task and it ran without any problems. Here are my remaining questions.

Do I need to submit the files to yahaoo and google or does vbseo do that for me?

I scheduled the task to run on sunday night should I have it run more often?

Is there anything else I should do to get the best out of VBSEO or the sitemap generator?

Should I use one of those products that submits my site to all the search engines?

Thanks again for everyones help. My site is starting to come along now. I had no experience creating bulletin boards but I think mine turned out really good. Now I just need to get some traffic.

For better (faster) results, add all your sitemap files to your Google Webmaster account.

What is the exact file location and path for Google and Yahoo after installing it at all?
