vbadvanced pages and vbadvanced link directory

First question - I have vbadvanced pages in the root directory, not in the forums directory. However, I have vbeso_sitemap in the /forums directory. What is the process (step by step please) to include the vbadvanced pages in the sitemap? Please explain as if you were talking to a complete idiot.

Second question - is there a way to include a vbadvanced link directory in the sitemap as well? This script resides in the /links directory. What would be the process to do this?

What's a major version? Does it mean the number before the first dot, so that we have to wait until 4.x?
