I have vBulletin set to yes for Search Engine Friendly Archive.
Is that right, or am I creating duplicated content?

Any ideas on this? Duplicate content can result in a G penalty.

Change the name from archive to sitemap, then have vbseo redirect the links on the sitemap pages directly to the actual thread or post content instead of the duplicate page. This allows the SEF index and removes the duplicate content.
There is a setting in vbseo to do this:
Rewrite + 301 Redirect Archive Pages
and
Rewrite Archive Root:
osCMax.com - osCommerce Maximized, supercharge your cart
AABox.com - Premium web hosting for small business
Thanks Michael,
I have set up Sitemap. It is doing that automatically, or do I need to set the rewrite + 301 redirect archive pages within vBSEO?
Thanks again.
FB
Sitemap does not do it. You need to set it up in VBSEO. Sitemap just makes a sitemap of the existing urls as an xml file that is submitted to google. VBSEO rewrites the urls on the server.

Got it. Thanks. Are there instructions for this (sorry I am a novice), or another posting to follow.

Feeling stupid here.
Currently, my Rewrite Archive Root is /archive/index.php. Is my vBSEO sitemap (the default installation) /vbseo_sitemap/index.php?
I would click custom, and enter /vbseo_sitemap/index.php? Right?
Rewrite + 301 Redirect Archive Pages is already set.
Thanks again.

No... You would not. The sitemap application is something completely different than what you are trying to do. You are trying to make the vbulletin archive into a sef archive that google can spider to index your pages, without duplicating content.
The sitemap generator at /vbseo_sitemap/index.php has nothing to do with this and is where the sitemap generator resides.
So, you should use the /sitemap/ instead...
osCMax.com - osCommerce Maximized, supercharge your cart
AABox.com - Premium web hosting for small business
Where do I rename /archive/ to /sitemap/?
Within vBulletin or from my ftp client?
FB
You should not rename the folder (keep it as "archive/") - vBSEO will automatically rewrite urls to the defined location ("sitemap/" or other).

I have Rewrite + 301 Redirect Archive Pages set, and Rewrite Archive Root: set to /archive/index.php, and vBulletin set to Yes for SE Friendly Arhive.
So it sounds like this is what I want! Right?

Yes, in this case you will have archive acting as sitemap and thread links pointing to the full versions of showthread pages to avoid duplicate content (this is default vBSEO behaviour). So it sounds like this is what I want! Right?
