Varname ?

Hi all,

Trying to install the sitemap generator 2.6b... when adding the scheduled task.. ive followed the instructions from the included readme file...

i enter all fields as suggested by the readme:

Go to your ADMIN CP > Scheduled Tasks > Add New  Scheduled Task
Edit new task options:
Title: vBSEO - Create Google/Yahoo Sitemap
Filename: ./vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_sitemap.php
Set task schedule according to your forums activity. For  instance, to generate a daily sitemap at 2AM set:
Day of the Week: *
Day of the Month: *
Hour: 2 (or any other)
Minute: 0 - -

But i see nothing regarding the "Varname"

What should i put in here, currently when leaving blank i get this message:

I am unsure whats going on, any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.. i am not sure if the documentation has been updated for 2.6b or if it has automatically created a scheduled task.

Also to save opening another thread... what is the default vbseo sitemap file name / location to submit to google webmaster tools ?

Thanks again for any help, i will provide help / assistance to others once i get the hang of things, i am a fast learner.. just new to vbseo and want to ensure i don't stuff up first time around.

Note: This is a required step for vBulletin 3.5.x  series. If using vBulletin 3.6.x or 3.7.x, vBSEO will automatically  create a scheduled task at 2AM without having to go through the steps  below.

So now i am assuming vb4.0.4 makes this scheduled task automatically ?

Still not sure where and default sitemap is placed by vbseo.. Thanks again

You shouldn't need to create the scheduled tast unless you are using vB3.5 or prior.

As noted in the readme

Thanks sorry, i saw that after posting.. but there was no mention of vBulletin 4x so i thought i best double check..

also what / where is the location the sitemap is created to ? i would like to submit to google webmaster tools asap.

You can see the url to your sitemap in the vbseo sitemap reports page, usually yoursite.com/forum/sitemap_index.xml.gz is what you want to submit

One last thing on this sitemap.... hxxp://mysite.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz

The above is still ok ?? i am using the full publishing suite for my Battlefield 3 website.. i am assuming it doesn't need to be:

mysite.com/forums/sitemap_index.xml.gz
apposed to
mysite.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz

this should still be fine correct ?

You can see your sitemap URL within your sitemap generator reports "yoursite.com/vbseo_sitemap/"
For your battelfield3 forum that's your sitemap URL : http://battlefield3forums.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz
