Should I have the users profile being indexed by google? What is the common practice?

It is all based on personal preference. I have it open mine open to see, but it is not included in the sitemap. Others will tell you to keep it closed.

I allow guests to view, re-write them /memebers/mebername/, but do not include them in the site map.
