    URLs submitted?

I got my sitemap added to google earlier today (after several attempts and errors) and its telling me THREE URLs Submitted. My forum has almost 35,000 threads.

I cant get it to add the show threads. I have redone my robot.txt file to allow it, the settings in vbseo admin cp allow it.

What can I check to get it working?

Google will not index your site instantly. Indexed url numbers will slowly climb and for your information it will never reach 100%

    Hello ,

I just checked your site and most of your forums are closed to public. If your threads are not reachable by guests , they are not included within your sitemap files and SE's can't index the threads which they can't reach at. Therefor i strongly advise you to consider opening your forums to guest access.

You need to open your forums to guest access , any other method will be called cloaking and may cause serious penalties as cloaking is strictly forbidden by SE's

Ahh.. ok. I cant do that. Its a childrens forum and by having to register helps keep the creeps at bay. Otherwise I would love to open it up.

So, say bots will be able to see. Would that change the "Submitted URLs" straight away or does that take time to go up too?

Submitted url's is the count in your sitemap file. This will update daily when your sitemap runs and google picks it up a few hours later. The sitemap only includes public forums/threads/etc.
Indexed url's are those in the sitemap that google has listed in it's index and can appear as a search result.

I understand your privacy concerns, but the short of it is that if you block all your content from guests, vbseo (nor anything) is going to help you rank for search terms.

I would highly suggest at the very least creating a few public forums, perhaps with articles about child rearing, etc that will help you rank for terms in the articles (you know the topic better than i). Those forums don't have to be open to the children to reply in or anything either, keeping them safe.

Some people here say that by just posting on this site will get your site indexed because a Google spider hands out here continuously because of the amount of traffic....

Also I added that link because I also have created a new sitemap and it has only been 3% indexed. Let's see if it works. I also have hear this on other forumns so I have great hopes that it is correct.
