unsupported file format?
I just checked my google account, and when I look at the sitemap, I get the following error:

Unsupported file format Your Sitemap does not appear to be in a supported format. Please ensure it meets our Sitemap guidelines and resubmit.
I would really apreciate it if someone could let me know what is going wrong here.

It looks like you may not have set the permissions correctly on the vBSEO Sitemap data directory?

I have the /vbseo_setemap/data folder set to CHMOD 777, which is what I think it has to be. Do I need to recursively set the data folder and all files and subfolders to 777 as well.

Hello John,

you should also set vbseo_setemap/data/hits/ to 0777 and all files in vbseo_setemap/data/ folder to 0666.
