About LinkBacksI was just reading the Google News help FAQs and they recommend creating a separate sitemap for Google News that lists content only a couple of days old at most (they have some other criteria which can be found here: News Sitemaps - Google News (publishers) Help ).
Is there any way to do this with the VBSEO Sitemap product, separate from the existing sitemaps it creates?

A news feed is not currently supported by vbseo, sorry.

I think what they are looking for is the most recent threads on a board, formatted as a sitemap. Not an RSS feed. A sitemap of Today's Posts (under the vb 3.8x quicklinks) for example, would do the trick...

Google news is VERY strict. If you're not a 'news' site, you will get denied over and over again. 99.999% of our customers' sites won't qualify for google news.

Brian, we just qualified for Google News. Now that the sitemap is separating CMS articles, would: sitemap_cms_1.xml.gz be the correct sitemap to submit?

Mert, I have an advertiser who is asking that my site have a chronological archive for my CMS. Do you think sitemap_cms_1.xml.gz will suffice?
Do any sites put that url on their footer?

That should cover it , we suggest not to put archive urls on footer.

I don't see it as a problem though Google suggests not to put sitemap links on page as site map urls are easily located through robots.txt file
