About LinkBacksDoes anybody have any tips to speed up impex?
It is taking ages to do 65000 members and I dread to think how long it will take for over a million posts :(

took me nearly 40 hours to do my conversion with 20k members and 600k posts

Why so long? ha! I am scared!
I have tried it on the old server but it seemed to kill it. So I have had to transfer the old db, import that onto the new server. Then impex it. It is going now and it is running on posts, 80k of 1,072,109 ha!
Then I can get vbseo installed

It keeps crashing on posts :(
So I have to keep starting again :(
I have been trying to do this for 2 days now!
It is the users that seem to be taking up so much time.

yep.
i ended up splitting it out by hand and importing in chunks :(

Ouch! Does it not need to be converted specially then?
It is just doing the users now AGAIN!

Out of interest, what did you use to cut up the mysql file into chunks?

i used a big text editor
something like this:
Large Text File Viewer Download - This program was designed for viewing large (>1GB) text files. It uses
to read the chunks i split (1gb chunks ish) with
JR File Split - Free File Splitter Software

Mine is only 750mb max so might be ok with just the text editor, just incase I ever need to manually change things
