Somewhat confused with vbSEO Sitemap, can someone answer my questions?

Hey guys,

I've just installed vbSEO site map and everything went fine, however - i'm alittle confused and need a few questions answered.

My forum is located at domain.com/forum/ as I have content pages outside of the forum.

So which of the below xml files do i submit to Google?

http://www.stackleaders.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz
or
http://www.stackleaders.com/sitemap_1.xml.gz

Also,
As I have many more files witin the root, such as domain.com/articles/ that I wish to have indexed, will google follow only the sitemap, and ignore my other files within root that aren't contained within the xml files?

Hello Joe,

you should submit sitemap_index.xml.gz, other files are included in it and Google will automatically recognize them.

Pages that are no included in sitemap will still be crawled/indexed by search engines - sitemap does NOT exclude them.
