Sitemaps not being Generated?

I've been stumped by the Sitemap Generator.

I've installed it, uninstalled it, re-installed it, and I still can't get it to make Sitemaps.

I have vBSEO installed and working on my forum (as of 30 minutes ago) so I know the .htaccess info is correctly configured.

I've gone through the files folder by folder to ensure they are uploaded.

I've installed the .xml file per the instructions.

I receive an email every night stating it has been made. This is an excerpt.

Moreover ping: Successful.
Live.com ping: FAILED.
I did notice additional GoogleBot traffic, and an increase in hits from Google, but I'm not sure if this is due to the site being spidered more aggressively from Google, or if it is due to the Sitemap being magically generated, sent, and deleted.

When I try to access the sitemap file via the URL, or look in the vBSEOCP, it shows no sitemap and gives me "Sitemap not found".

Bit o' help please gents?

I fixed my own problem, yay.

I had the data folder set to 0775 instead of 0777.

My live.com ping is failing every attempt. I see yours failed also. Is it working for you now?

Yeah, it just magically started working a few days ago. I'm not too concerned with it since Google is the big fish, and Yahoo et al. barely send me anything.

does it work if you go there manually?

ie go here in a browser, obviously replacing your info:

Code:
http://webmaster.live.com/webmaster/ping.aspx?siteMap=http://www.yoursite.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz
?

Another thing i just thought of...

since live goes last, it simply may not have finished processing by the time vbseo comes back and prints the report.

Try adding in a 20 second delay in the sitemap options panel

Yes it works when I do it manually. But still is showing as failed in the Emails.

I will try the delay. Thanks.
