    Sitemap problem

    i installed vbseo, i got sitemap_1.xml.gz at my "forums/vbseo_sitemap/data" folder. When i tried to add this file as sitemap in google, it gave an error something like "your sitemap must be in www.xxxxxforum.com/forums/ , because i added my site to google as www.xxxxxforum.com/forums/. This folder is my root folder. When i copy this file to root and add to google sitemaps, it only indexes my vbadvanced portal page, not forum page.

    So ;
    1- How can i add my sitemap_1.xml.gz in its original location to google
    2- How can i index my forums page, not vbadvanced portal page.

    Thanks

    Re: Sitemap problem

    Hello,

    1. you should submit www.xxxxxforum.com/forums/sitemap_1.xml.gz to google, just create .htaccess file with rewrite rules as described in installation instructions
    2. you can include any additional URLs in extra-urls.txt file (one per line)

    Re: Sitemap problem

    Thanks for your reply.

    i did number 1 and 2, now google accepted my root folder, and i add this lines to my extraurl file ;

    http://www.xxxxforum.com/forums/eindex.php (this is my main forum index)
    http://www.xxxxforum.com/forums/archive/index.php (and archive page)

    Google has verified my site, accepted my sitemap, but threads in my archive stiil don't appear at google search. only few threads in portal page are listing.

    What is the problem ?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

    it is not an instant process and takes quite some time before the pages appear in Google index.

    3. Will Google crawl and index all of the URLs in my Sitemap?

    We don't guarantee that we'll crawl or index all of your URLs. However, we use the data in your Sitemap to learn about your site's structure, which will allow us to improve our crawler schedule and do a better job crawling your site in the future. In most cases, webmasters will benefit from Sitemap submission, and in no case will you be penalized for it.
