    Sitemap Location?

    Hello Gang

Ok, Ive just reinstalled the newest version of VBSitemap to correct the XML issues.

Now, for some reason, my old sitemap code was set up to create the sitemap files in the root.

Now that i have reinstalled, they are going into the vbseo_sitemap/data/ folder?

Im sure there was a reason I configured it to be in the root last time, but i cant remember why?

Am I right in thinking this - Or does it make no difference where it is located on the server?

    Thanks.

    Paul

Sorry another quick question about sumbitting the sitemaps in google.

Do I need to just add the sitemap_index.xml.gz (which i thought pointed the spiders to each of the sitemap files)

or do i need to add each on in my google account , i.e

    sitemap_1.xml.gz
    sitemap_2.xml.gz

    and so on

    Its ok

    Ive answered my own question

When i put in http://www.uk-muscle.co.uk/sitemap_index.xml.gz into google, it automatically pics it up from the /vbseo_sitemap/data/ folder

    Clever stuff - Thanks

Just one more question. Which sitemap rule do i need to put into .htaccess, the one in the vbsitemap 1.6.1 download, or the one thats already installed with vbseo:

The one with vBSEO 2.4.5 is the most recent one, and the one you should use.

    Thank you Keith.

Im getting this error in my sitemap account on the sitemap_index

Error Detail General HTTP error : 404 in Sitemap http://www.uk-muscle.co.uk/sitemap_3.xml.gz 404 not found General HTTP error : 404 in Sitemap http://www.uk-muscle.co.uk/sitemap_4.xml.gz 404 not found General HTTP error : 404 in Sitemap http://www.uk-muscle.co.uk/sitemap_6.xml.gz 404 not found

Then 404 errors on the files it relates to - Any ideas?

Strange. I can click any of the links you posted and I get your sitemap files fine.

    Keith

Sorry - Ignore me, getting late here

Some reason google said "Last downloaded: 20mins" - "Submitted: 12 mins"

So, if i only submitted it 12 minutes ago, and it looked for it 20 mins ago then it aint gonna find it!

Stupid Google (Gotta blame someone! )
