    Sitemap Generator Question

Did i install the site correctly?

When you go to the search engine activity log in the vbseo_sitemap. I get no page counts on forum display, show thread, show post, member profile... only from "other pages" is it because i'm using vbadvanced on root as my index.php? would the settings and .htaccess change?

That's what i been getting. I have my forum not on my root server but as /forums/ ex: www.domain.com/forums

do i have to change the .htaccess in the forums folder for this to:
    RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ forums/vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]

or just leave it default and not add forums/

but it doesn't count the forum display pages. and stuff like that. What does 'other pages' pertain too?

Possibly you didn't get any SE bots hits in forumdisplay pages yet - do you see them on who's online page?

No i did not see them on who's online page, so your probably right.

But i'm wondering am i doing this right do i have to add the code below in the .htaccess in the /forums/ directory?

    RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ forums/vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]

or just leave it default and not add forums/

If you can let me know that would be great, i just want to make sure i'm setting it up correctly.

    Hello Mike,

since your are running vBSEO, you should not modify your .htaccess, since it contains all required directives by default.

    • "My Sitemap URL is:"? I have no idea.
    • Should i make one for my website root and it includes my forums or?
    • Where is this .xml file?
    Thanks,
    Dan

    • What do i do about the error you see in the screenshot? Do they come from an outdated style/skin?
    • Why dont i see any Google SE bots? From what I see in the other screenshot, it says that there has been a download from google and yahoo of some sort. I see yahoo bots going crazy on my site, but google rarely visits.

    Hello,

xml sitemaps are physically locatd in vbseo_sitemap/data/ folder, but you should access them via forums root only (this is done via mod_rewrite rule in .htaccess that is included in default vBSEO configuration).
You should only move sitemap to domain root if you include non-vBulletin URLs that are located outside of forums folder (via extra-urls.txt).

What do i do about the error you see in the screenshot? Do they come from an outdated style/skin?
These are 404 errors and are not related to your sitemaps. Usually there are outdated links that are no longer existing at your site and google will clean them after some time.

How do you track SE bots? What are the stats in SE bots activity reports of sitemap generator?

    What am i doing wrong?
I don't see anything wrong done so far

    Thank you for the reply.
So all I would have to do is add the New York Dev <--root or any other URL on my site in my extra_urls.txt file
    Thanks,
    Dan

In this case you will have to move sitemap to the domain root as described in Sitemap in www root
