    Sitemap file size error

    Hey there

I just updated to latest sitemap, ran it.. with no error. However, i check google webmaster tool today and it gives me this error

    Code:
    Sitemap file size error
Your Sitemap exceeds the maximum file size limit. Please create multiple Sitemaps containing fewer URLs to meet the file size limit.
    How do I Fix that.

    Hi Hassan,

What do you have the Max URLs in Sitemap setting set too? Note that google will not accept sitemaps that contain more than 50,000 URL's.

That is probably because it is too large. If you have long URLs it makes the file size bigger. Try making the value about 35000

I did but no help... you think deleting all sitemaps from vb3 and remake new ones for vb4 would help ?
Currently google have 11 sitemaps since vb3. I didnt delete sitmaps from older version.

    Hi,

Yes when ever you change the settings in a major way like this you should delete all the .xml.gz files in /vbseo_sitemap/data/ folder and then regenerate them from scratch.

Okay that works now. However, I used to have a sitemap called " urllist.txt.gz" which I can not find anymore.
May I know what happened to it?
