Sitemap doubles?

So i have been having major bandwith drains...like going from 20gb to almost 80 in less than 15 days! Hits have gone up about 400 more a hit...but that doesn't justify that type of bandwith.

On the 14th of July, I had 396,311 links in the sitemap
On the 15th of July, I had 793,404 links in the sitemap

There was not that many links on my site....

Any suggestions?
