Sitemap Confusion

Hi, I am a little confused about the sitemap function and have a couple of questions.

On a busy forum how often should I generate a new sitemap?

Once I generate a new sitemap do I need to resubmit it to google?

once a day, and it pings google, etc automatically.

there's a built in cron task with the sitemap product. you don't have to do anything manually.

Make sure you include it in your Google Webmaster Tools:
Google Webmaster Tools - Recommended for All vBSEO Customers

I checked my Scheduled Task Manager.

I have 2 sitemap tasks.

One is called vBSEO - Create Google/Yahoo Sitemap
The other is vbseo_sitemap_task

Is this normal?

If so, what is the best way to schedule them on a busy forum, and in which order?

My forum has about 13,000 members 8,900 posts 4,400 threads

I am getting 4 sitemaps 151KB, 115KB, 103KB, and 16KB in size and am getting tons of errors when doing the sitemaps late at night. Should I just delete all these and start over somehow?

I think I got something drastically wrong going on here. Sorry for all the questions, but something seems screwed up pretty bad. I am at my wits end for figuring this problem out. I had a shared account where they moved my files doing some server upgrade and I think they goofed up all the vBSEO files, as they are encrypted. Also they suspended my account. So, I moved to a new VPS hosting account. The sitemaps and vBSEO in general are still strange to me in how they work.

One of them is from the older version of sitemap generator, you should remove one of the tasks (called "vBSEO - Create Google/Yahoo Sitemap") and re-generate sitemaps after that.
