Sitemap 1.7 and VB3.6.4

1. I notice that the sitemap instructions with 1.7 download in UserCP mention VB 3.5, not 3.6.

Is this the right software to build and post my Google sitemap.xml to Google webmaster tools?

2. I already have a sitemap for my static html pages and dynamic store html pages, posted to public_html/sitemap.xml.

Should I call the vbSEO map sitemap1.xml, and tell Google that I have posted a second sitemap, or is there a way of combining the two sitemaps.

1. Yes, Sitemap Generator 1.7 is compatible with vBulletin3.6.x

2. You can either
- submit both sitemaps separately in google webmaster account (simpler way)
- or include all static URLs in vbseo_sitemap/extra-urls.txt file so that vBSEO Sietmap Generator automatically include them in sitemap. In this case you should move sitemaps to the root as described here: Sitemap in www root

If it were your site, which way would you go? We have:

700 static html pages, growing slowly
200 dynamic html pages (xcart products), not growing
7000 vbulletin pages, growing 20-30 a day.

We sell an expensive item by phone from our html pages (our real business), and accessories through the xcart store.

The forum is a user group full of happy customers.

For us, better indexing results in more page views and phone call orders ($2K-10K each).

I asked the same question here and am working on it right now. I will let you know if I can get a single map from vBSEO to do it. Otherwise, gsitecrawler works will for your html site.
