Question Single Posts in sitemap or not? etc

I'm wondering if we should have single posts listed within our sitemaps or just stick to threads.

For one, when a user does come to a single post, it looks really horrible and they may just click back. The default single post setup is really unfriendly if that is the first thing you see when you come to a website. There is usually no header/navbar on single posts and usually no google adsense ads to help generate revenue.

I have so far kept them out of the site-map. Now I know that some single posts could be very useful because they may have a higher keyword density than the whole thread in general -- but what's the point if what they are taken to is so useless in it's effect? Should we be focusing on making the single post display a lot better and perhaps adding adsense ads to them? Or just keep them out or as is?

    Your thoughts?

I have them in my sitemap...

They have a link to the full thread at the top right, and I have Adsense ads displaying on my showposts.
