is sitemap still created daily? (check that in vbseo_sitemap/ interface)

Yes, this created every day and putting the right direction, but I have seen this review vbseo_sm_config30x.php like this:

// Receive Email Notifications
'vbseo_sm_email' => '',

may be why I have to put something there?

That file is only used for vB3.0.x, make sure that you have your email address specified in vB Admincp->vBSEO Sitemap Generator options.
