Which search engines do you use?

    1. I was just wondering which search engines people submit there sites to?
    and
    2. Which ones accept the sitemaps.

If you can include URLs/links that would be good.

    also,

    3. How often do you submit them to these search engines?

    and,

    4. Have you paid to be submitted in any search engines, if so, which ones, and how much, and how often do you do this. Links as well, please.

Well i'm hoping that everyone who reads this, will make a post on what they have done in reguards to inclusion and submission with the search engines.

    Thanks guys.

i submit to all, and i don't pay..

i have a prog IBP Internet business promoter
it submits to a bunch of search engines, but in my mind, directories and the way to go

if you get listed on a high ranked Dir. then the search engines will find your link

and if your listed on 100 high ranked Directories,, well u get the idea

I have now got the full version of IBP Internet business promoter

I am still testing all its features out, but it looks quite nice.

What other software do people use here, that submits your sites and helps you improve your rankings.

I never submitted my site to a search engine. Just submitted it to all the free directories. Your site will be picked up by Google and others soon enough when it's on a PR5 or higher page. Actually my guess is it will take longer to index when you submit it to a SE yourself.

And I never paid a single dime to any company for advertising or adding my URL either.

I dont submit my sites initially to any search engine. I put a link on my original sites homepage, and the sites are listed on the big 3 within 2 days usually. normally 24 hours. I submit sitemaps to google on a monthly basis, and make sure I have a robots.txt file available for all search engine spiders.

I messed with directories in the past, but not really messing with them much right now. My largest site gets linked from almost all related sites via links to various content. My plan is to have the same thing happen with my other new sites eventually.

On my latest site, I am practicing with no unnatural linking. No directories at all, and no sig links at other sites. So far, that site is getting indexed very well with google. Site is less than a month old and is virtually completely indexed, with very few supplemental results.

idont normally submit to websites (funny fact, they all come (spiders) to your website at the same time, so you get loads of bots online, so it looks like your most members online is higher)

Not if you remove the "most users online" display. It's pretty useless anyway.
