Running Sitemap generator twice a day

Is it ok to run the sitemap generator twice a day?

Any disadvantages doing so?

I was wondering if running it abt every 12 hrs will be ok

i.e 1 manual and 1 auto

Is there any special reason why you want to do that ?
I dont see any reason for that unless you have a very very busy board.

There shouldn't be any problems running it multiple times a day. I would just avoid heavy traffic times, since it adds a little load to the server, especially if you have a lot of threads.

But, unless you have an extremely busy site, it's probably not worth doing.
