This plugin adds more duplicate content?

Looked through my sitemap and noticed links like this one:
    15797-post3.html

Can't understand why this have to be in the sitemap, and it just adds extra duplicate content. Fix?

Turn off Showpost Rewrites in your vBSEO Control panel, add an exclusion for showpost.php to your ROBOTS.TXT file, and in your vBSEO Sitemap options turn off the option to include Showpost URLs in your sitemap.

Then donot add showpost pages to your sitemap files and add rel="nofollow" to all your showpost links.

Ah, theres and easy way to delete them. Your vbulletin admin Settings->vBSEO Google/Yahoo sitemap generator. Look for
"Include Show Post Pages", choose "No". This reduce the size of the sitemap and skips duplicate content. Great!

Yes, I mentioned that option in my first reply.

But that still won't stop search engines from indexing those pages if they run across them.

    Is this recommended?

I follow (I think) what you guys are talking about as far as how to do this. My questions is if it is recommended to do this? Is this duplicate content that will pull down PR, get your site penalized? What are the plusses and the minusses?

I like replacing the showpost links with permalinks. Look for this option in the "Permalinks" section of your vBSEO control panel (vbseocp.php).

Replace post number link with Permalink
Will replace individual showpost links with the "Permalink" link. Note: Posts will no longer be accessible individually.
