New here, need some assistance

I just started using the Plesk control panel for the server space I rent. I ran the test script and this is what it told me.

Testing Server...

Zend Optimizer No Download/Install Instructions | FAQ

Ioncube No PHP safe mode is enabled and run time loading will not be possible.

Server Changes Possibly Needed

This test script was unable to find Zend Optimizer on your server and was unable to successfully run Ioncube. Suggestions and install instructions are to the right of both Zend Optimizer and Ioncube above.

What is the next step in the process to get this to work for me?

You can try uploading the ionCube version to see if it will work.

To test, upload all the vBSEO files EXCEPT the .htaccess file. That will allow you to see if vBSEO will run, without affecting your site. Once you have uploaded, try browsing to http://yourforumurl/vbseocp.php to see if the vBSEO Control Panel will display.

If it won't display, you will have to ask your host to install ionCube or Zend onto your server.

If it does display, you can install the vBSEO XML product via your AdminCP, and upload the .htaccess file, and you should be set.

Thanks for the info. I guess I have to contact my provider, here is the error that I receive.

Site error: the file /var/www/vhosts/huntingne.com/httpdocs/forum/vbseocp.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.0.so to be installed by the site administrator.

First, make sure that file exists in the ioncube directory under your forums directory. If it doesn't, download the latest loaders for your OS (linux) at PHP Encoder, protection, installer and performance tools from ionCube: Loader Download and place the referenced file into the ioncube directory.

Ok, loaded the newest loaders and still did not work, and the file is in the root dir. All files are in place with the exception of the htaccess and xml product that you talked about. Will I have to contact my provider?

It shouldn't be in the root directory. It should be in the "ioncube" directory, below your forums directory.

I'm sorry it is in the "iconcube" directory.

Yes, if you are still getting that message, then it probably means that an older copy of the loaders are installed at the server level (via PHP.INI), so you would have to ask your host to upgrade.

OK, great. Thanks for your help. I will let you know where I'm at when my provider updates my server. What version should I tell them?

For ionCube, just make sure they get the latest from the ionCube site referenced above.
