    My VBSEO results

I installed VBSEO about 10 May which was four days ago. I have been watching the progress on Google Analytics since then. There has been no progressive difference since I installed VBSEO. I know it is still early but everyone was bragging about how they saw a tremendous difference. I have not seen what they saw yet unless they did not have there site optimized for search engines to start with.

I will keep updating this is there is any changes.

4 days is far too soon to see anything. Expect a solid month

I was basing this off everyone else that said they have seen changes in the first three days. However like I said those people may have not had there sites search engine friendly to start with and that is why it may have helped them so soon.

My site was already optimized for good search engine results. I realized it may take longer then 4 days. I am going to give it a month. I have to admit though that I do not expect any positive results but I am going to give it a 100% try. That is why I do not go and install it on my big board first.

I was very skeptical going into this as I stated and did not dare to put it on my big board so I picked one of my other successful sites. I see some draw backs now to VBSEO and the biggest draw back is if I were to remove it from the site because it would screw up all links that were created with the rewrites it does.

I seriously doubt that any changes seen in the first 3 days could be attributed to vBSEO, on any site. It takes time for the search engines to get everything re-indexed. IMO, I wouldn't expect to see any major changes in the first few months.

The key is to stay consistent, and patient, and let the search engines do their thing.

The other thing is, success will vary greatly based on your content. You can have all of your content indexed fully and perfectly, but that doesn't guarantee you will receive more traffic. People have to be searching for the keywords you are targetting in order for you to be found.

If that is the case then how is VBSEO going to help if this is already being done?

If you have already manually fixed all the SEO problems that vBulletin has, that vBSEO fixes, then you're right, you wouldn't need vBSEO.

But I would venture to guess that you have not.

vBSEO isn't just an add-on to rewrite URLs. That is a very small, and unimportant, part of what it does. Perfect example: We Are Looking For The Following How To Articles! Brent doesn't even use keywords in his URLs. (And one of the default URL Formats included with vBSEO is based off that, if you choose to use it.)

There are many, many things that vBSEO fixes. Here's a big example of an SEO problem that vBulletin has, that vBSEO fixes: Pin the Tail on the SEO Donkey (with Link Consensus)!

More importantly, don't judge a small forum's success off what your big-board can accomplish.

By shear numbers, there are GREATER odds of bigger boards doing better in the search engines for any given term.... there's simply more posts that MIGHT make #1.
