Multiple RewriteEngine On's

Multiple RewriteEngine On's - Is that necessary?

I already use:

Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /

at the top of my .htaccess - I don't need to add another "RewriteEngine On" for vBSEO and then another for the vBSEO sitemaps right? Since it's already "On"?

And, another thing - for the sitemaps - it looks like vBSEO already adds the sitemap line to the .htaccess - do I need to any another (as per the sitemap instructions?)

Exactly, since you are using vBSEO, there's no need to add the .htaccess rules as defined in the sitemap instructions.
