Hello Everyone,

My problem is essentially the same as this person:

general sitemap question

That is, I have a sitemap generated for www.mysite.com/forums, but not for www.mysite.com.

The question I have is, I know there is a way to have the vBSEO sitemap generator include my root, should I? I update the root section once a month and that is it. Other than that it never changes. Do I need sitemap to run at the frequency I have the generator working on my forum, which is every night?

So what does everyone recommend? should I have two sitemaps, consisting of the root sitemap which would get run once a month, and the forum sitemap which gets generated nightly?

And lastly, would there be any sort of a penalty imposed by the search engines if they see I have two sitemaps? just wondering...I'm new to this and certainly don't want to offend the big guys
