Installed sitemap gen last night, now site isn't working properly..

    Hello,

I installed sitemap generator v2.2 last night and now might site isn't working right. I can navigate to the forum main page here NorcalG35.com Forums - Powered by vBulletin but when I try to view threads I get "the webpage can not be found."

Is this just a coincidence that I installed this last night and now my server is just having problems, or is it possible something went wrong?

    Regards,
    Chris

    check your htaccess file.

if you uplaoded the one with the sitemap, you shouldn't have seeing as your a vbseo customer. vbseo has the sitemap rules already built in... so you probably over-wrote it.

re-upload the stock htaccess file from the vbseo dsitribution.

    Thanks for the reply.

I kept my stock .htaccess but added this code to it:

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]

Would you recommend the stock one from vsbeo over this?

that line is ALREADY in the stock vbseo htaccess. you shouldn't turn on the rewrite engine twice, nor is the sitemap rule required twice.

    didn't fix the problem

Well, I uploaded the stock .htaccess and it didn't fix the problem. I checked my server and everything is working properly on their end.

I actually installed vsbeo and sitmap gen last night. Before that everything was working fine. Right now sometimes I'm able to view certain threads and sometimes I'm not. For about 20 minutes nothing on the site worked, not even the home page.

Any other ideas as to what may be going wrong?

Okay, I disabled vsbeo in the admin cp and the site is now working properly again.

I added google analytics code via the vsbeo control panel could this have caused any problems?

How should I proceed to get vsbeo working with my site?

Disabling the product in your admincp disables vBSEO from your website. Does your server allow the use of mod_rewrite/.htaccess file?
