Installed site map generator

When I look at my site map url this is what I get. Being new to this and the meriad of faliures I have had today... Can anyone decipher what the heck I do now.

Make sure your sitemap data directory has the permissions set to 644.

Will this be the error I get until I run the scheduled task?

It was set to 775 and I set it to 666. Thanks

Well, you need to run it first. You can kick it off from the vBSEO Sitemap menu also.

Actually, it should have been 644. I edited above.

I tried to generate a site map and it starts, but thorws out a huge amount of errors.

So far I have followed the instructions provided with these programs, but it seems I am missing something.? Maybe it is my inexperience.

Then the server goes down.... Good lord, I think I ought to take a break. The server going down is nothing I did. My friend's commerce site is on the same server and it is unreachable.

I was wrong again. Your sitemap data directory should be 777. Sorry for the confusion.

I made a site map, but is basically blank and it says this:

Looks correct. That's just the index sitemap, and will point to any/all of your additional sitemaps.

Example, the one shown above: http://www.guns-and-ammunition.com/sitemap_1.xml.gz
