    Indexing Question

    Hello I have a question regarding indexing of my forum.

    I have submitted a sitemap to google and yahoo etc but only my forum's homepage has been indexed so far since purchasing vbseo.

    In my webmaster tools it does say this however:

    Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page on july 20th.

    Here is another thing it says in webmaster tools:

    Sitemap stats
    Total URLs: 18886
    Indexed URLs: 1

    I have most of the extra settings tweak which I was recommended on here in a sticky.

    Does anyone have any ideas what could be preventing them being indexed?

    Thank you in advance or all responses and help with this.

    In general, you have a lot of on-page seo issues to address.

    • kill the archive/lofi version along with the links in the footer. [How To] Completely Turn Off the vBulletin Archive
    • kill the tag cloud (at least for guests)
    • validate your code. stock vb validates. [Invalid] Markup Validation of http://www.girlsonlyforum.co.uk/ - W3C Markup Validator W3C CSS Validator results for http://www.girlsonlyforum.co.uk/ (CSS level 2.1)
    • kill this for guests: Forum Arcade Champions
    • Remove the link to 'unregistered's profile. it obviously doesn't exist, so it will constantly 404. Welcome, Unregistered. You last visited: Today at 07:50 AM
    • view your site how SE's see it... with no pretty images, css, or anything else. all of your content up top is junk. The areas directly after the opening body tag are weighed the most. see screen shot
      • Consider swapping your sidebar to the right column instead of the left column so it comes after (and lower)
      • consider adding relevant replacements using Heading tags (Hx) for appropriate sections
    • If you are using the sitemap, be sure you aren't including old urls, showpost pages, member profiles pages.
    • don't show bookmarks in post, only in thread. you effectively add 10-ish links PER POST away from your weighted links. the less links, the better.
    I think once you address some on-page areas such as above, google et all will start to notice you better.

    Your site is tough... its VERY general covering a LOT of topics. It's been my experience that broad sites like this are hard to index well, simply because google doesn't know where to categorize you.
    you may be in 'womens health' one day, and then 'tv' the next day.
    It might be wise to take some of your non on-topic discussions into member-only forums to keep the bots out of them. Your forums such as the entire Entertainment, Writing, and Random categories will only hinder you IMO.

    another issue I've seen with sites like this are sex keywords. Most often used at spam, when you have a legit site that isn't an authority in google's eyes, having keywords with sexual nature often raise spam flags. ie,
    /sex-talk/1114-cyber-sex.htm
    While a legit thread in your sub-forum, it can easily be interepreted as spam by the SE's.

    Thank you so much for your time and help with. Some of the mods ive had to kill as they didnt have usergroup settings. I am having trouble with removing the link. Here is the code in the navbar template.

    HTML Code:
    <if condition="$show['member']">
        <td class="alt2" nowrap="nowrap">
        <div class="smallfont">
            <strong><phrase 1="$bbuserinfo[username]" 2="member.php?$session[sessionurl]u=$bbuserinfo[userid]">$vbphrase[welcome_x_link_y]</phrase></strong><br />
            <phrase 1="$pmbox[lastvisitdate]" 2="$pmbox[lastvisittime]">$vbphrase[last_visited_x_at_y]</phrase>
    I have done all of what you said apart from that above and the relevant replacements

    thank you
