    Improve my SEO

    My forum is http://www.sadoun.net

Since installing VB 4.0 and VBSEO 3.5.# My indexed pages on google dropped from 16000 to 2600.

Something is not going correct and I can't figure it out.

Since VB4.0 I removed by accident vbseo sitemap generator. Should I reinstall it?

I just disabled my VB XML Sitemap automatic generator.

How can I tune up my forum to achieve high SEO and Indexed pages?

I will pay for professional service. Let me know how much it will cost?

The VB built in sitemap is NOT compatible with vbseo. Please download and install sitemap 2.6 beta from the downloads area and disable and delete the files created by vb's generator.

Regarding your stats, how is traffic? Since you are basically submitting invalid URL's, the drop to 2600 is expected, as those url's do not exist, and thus won't be included in the index.

Thanks. Just went ahead and installed sitemap 2.6 beta. It was straight forward job, I hope this will help improve the indexing.
I use Google Webmaster Tools. What is the default name of the sitemap file google need to index?

Getting a skin/branding is probably #1 to do.
I would also suggest disabling the archive and the footer links.
set up redirects for your old content, ie, a random thread i visited had a link to a no longer used phpBB directory.
    No Hacking Talk !!

if you recently converted, i would suggest using our 301 tool

You will need to contact a vb4 deisgner or firm or do it your self. We do not offer design services.

Ok, I think I figured it all out.

Quite a while back, I deleted my phpBB directory, do no more links there. Any embedded links in posts will got to 404

Is My Sitemap Working, and is it Where I Told Google?
To determine whether the Sitemap has been generated, and whether the .htaccess is working, simply call the Sitemap's URL in your browser, eg: http://www.<domain>.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz. If it downloads, it's working.
Well, I clicked on my sitmap file http://www.sadoun.net/forums/sitemap_index.xml.gz
This is what I am getting
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 6971461 bytes) in /home/sadounn/public_html/forums/vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php on line 36
    What is causing that?

You may need to increase your memory_limit setting in php.ini. Your host may need to be contacted.

We recommend a minimum setting of 32M

    What do you think?

How long before these URLS are indexed?

What is wrong with sitemap 2?

click through on it and get the actual error reports.

I would also suggest trimming some fat from the sitemap. You currently have 16k threads... but you're submitting over 420,000 URLs.

Showthread and forumdisplay are all i recommend including.
IF your blogs/groups are popular, than include them too.
everything else, i would suggest not including.

A member profile page will likely NEVER give you traffic, so why send the bots off to it when they could be indexing your GOOD content that WILL index (threads, forums)

Also, be sure to delete all the xml.gz files from the data/ folder before re-running. It looks like sitemap 1 and 2 are leftovers.
