05-20-2007 08:59 PM #2I will recommend keeping old domain until everything is settle (which should not take less then a year for all SERPS)My Biggest Question is what do I do with the old domain name and files? I've already transferred files and migrated the database over to the new domain. Do I delete it, once the new domain has matured? Or is this a permanent thing? You should keep the old domain with the 301 redirect in place indefinitely. Certainly until all search engine references to the old site are updated.
