You should extract your downloaded file to your computer. Then inside of the docs folder you will see the readme file. Follow what it says to do.

No, you do not need to use the style. You can if you like.

Do I have to upload just the content of "upload" folder or the whole folder itself, I mean to upload "upload"folder?

You upload the contents of the upload folder to your forum directory. So that way admincp goes into admincp, etc.

I see thanks. I was confused because there is "upload" folder in the forum root.

Therefore, I will just upload the contents , not "upload"folder itself.

    thanks

Where does it say not to change configurations?

The only thing that I would set and not change is the URL structure. Other then that you can tinker with most settings.

    It says

Note: The vBSEO default settings are optimal for most forums, do not change settings you are not familiarized with.

Well obviously you do not want to change anything you are not familiar with. Yes, vbseo is pretty optimized well out of the box. But one thing that you can change is the URL structure to how you want. Cannot really break anything by changing that, but it is a set it and forget it.

    Thanks
    1) Enable Adsense Section Targeting?

    Do you recommend above?

    2) URL rewrite setting.

Current Preset: 001 - Hierarchic .html type URLs with content relevant forums and threads (Default Settings)

There are a few options. Which is the best? I like something like v7n forum.

Any suggestions for best SEO ?

    3) "File Not Found" requests handling?

I redirected to homepage, is it okay?

    thanks

    1) if you run adsense ads, yes.
    2) nothing is the 'best'. they all work. it's what format YOU want your site in.
    3) I suggest following these steps:Create a Custom vBulletin "404 Page Not Found" Page, and direct vBSEO to use it.

Thanks. Why do I need to create 404 file when I could redirect to home page. Why?

    I appreciate your help.

google REQUIRES a 404 header code for bad pages. directing to the homepage alone will not pass this requirement, and thus your sitemap will never get validated.
