As you just installed, and the sitemap submits vbseo-style urls, none of those urls are yet indexed, just your domain.com url in the sitemap. This is normal, and should increase with time as google migrates you to the vbseo urls in their index.

So should I still keep my regular vB site map as well? I'm hoping not to lose out any placement with this addition, or is that impossible?
No. Delete that. Those urls do not exist anymore.
You may lose some placement, but it's likely temporary. The first month is a change over period. You simply need to wait it out while google does it's thing.

Weird. We are seeing the same thing. What is even more strange is that Google almost immediately indexed every single one of our member profile pages based on the new vbSEO urls, but I can't find any threads that have been indexed yet. Not sure why it chose to pick up the members so quickly. We are a medium site with over 1000 new posts a day. It has only been two days but would have thought we would have seen something by now.
Is it possible that we have done something wrong? When I look in webmaster it says there are 54,952 URLs in the sitemap... but when I look in my vbSEO sitemap reports, it says the last report resulted in 39,836 (+22) URLs. Is it picking up something incorrectly?

Art, that is normal. Using a site: command query, you will ofetn find the userpages first. Just leave it as you are. You are headed in the right direction... it just takes a bit of time.

I don't know if the timing was just coincidental or what, but I was showing a discrepancy as mentioned in post #8 so I went in, blew away my sitemap files, regenerated them and resubmitted the sitemap to Google... and bam... tonight, Webmaster is showing 32,000 of my submitted links are being indexed.![]()
It will only get better![]()
