google sitemap question.

Question. Do I have to manually run the sitemap generator and upload it to google? or does it run itself and then notify google as well?

It runs every night automatically and notifies the 4 major search engines of the updated sitemap too.
After each auto-generation, an email is sent to you with the status report.

You can (optionally) add the sitemap in your Google webmaster tools account to keep track of the indexed URLs.

i set it to run every half hour for a automatic sitemap.

you shouldn't run it more than once a night.

Oh. ok. ill change it. I thought the more the better.

it takes a while for google to process it anyway. if you submit it too much, they will never process it at all because it goes back into queue with a new 'file'
