Google not finding sitemap?

Hi all,

Installed vBSEO Sitemaps yesterday, set scheduled task to 2am as suggested in instructions, but when I enter the URL for my sitemap onto Google it returns with;

General HTTP error: 404 not found
We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit

Any ideas?

What is the URL you submitted?

The one given at myforum/vbseo_sitemap-
http://www.chessforums.org/sitemap_index.xml.gz

Do you have the following in your .htaccess

Yes I have that in the htaccess file

Make sure you set the vbseo_sitemap data directory and all files in it set to 777 permissions, and click the option on the sitemap menu to generate the sitemap.

It wasnt set to 777- sorry my mistake!!!
Should I wait until tomorrow now to retry? as scheduled to generate sitemap at 2am

You can manually create the sitemap using the link on your vBSEO Sitemap menu.
