Hey I've a general question about the number of visitors we can get. Suppose there are like, 10000 URLs in your maps and submitted in Google Webmaster Tools as well and shown and seems to be working. How many visitors on average can we get from that? Any idea?

it would depend on what the people were searching for and if your links per say were of interest to them..

There is no definitive answer for that. There are many, many factors:

• Is your topic unique, or are there many other forums/websites competing with you?
• Do you have any links to your content (i.e. good links)?
• Do you restrict "bad" content from being promoted on your forum (torrents, etc)?
• Do you keep your forum online?
• Do you avoid any practices that could cause a penalty such as blackhat SEO or selling links, or buying links?
• Is your forum more chat oriented with short posts, or substantial posts (more lengthy with good keywords)?
• Do you actively create your own article content, etc.
• Did you create your homepage with SEO in mind, i.e. reducing unnecessary links and low value content?
• What is the search volume for keywords related to your topic (high or low)?
• What language is your forum in?
• Does your forum validate?
• Did you create a light weight template?
• Did you request a critique from the vBSEO team?

That is just a few. But it ultimately comes down to your topic and the quality of the user generated content that gets created.

Like Sid mentions, you may have 3242423423423 articles about blue widgets. But, if no one cares about blue widgets and thus, never searches for them, you won't get any SE traffic, even though you rank #1 for "blue widgets".

Luckily, there's usually at least one more person who shares an interest in something like yourself, and thus, you WILL most likely get some hits. But how many totally depends on the activity of the niche.

More people certainly searched for 'presidential elections' then they did for 'cheif of staff nominations' as an example.

What is your forum topic?

It's about Bollywood movies, online download reveiws.. sound tracks, indian mp3s... indian tv serials and so on

so how long does it actually takes to submit all the URLs into search engines. after how long of vbseo installation we start recieving visitors?

URLs will be submitted (in full) via our sitemap immediately after installing. Google and others should start crawling within days or even hours.

Bollywood is an excellent topic, especially if you have very good content already in place.

It is possible that you will begin receiving traffic immediately. Sometimes it takes a little longer for larger amounts of traffic to occur.

The key thing to understand is that the minute you install vBSEO, you will be much better prepared to receive traffic than you are without it. So if you are eager to begin the process of boosting your traffic, the time is now.

What if the threads are only viewable by members, NOT guests. Will those pages be included in google/yahoo etc? because they've paragraphs written inside but only viewable by guests? Should they be viewable by guest as well or only members?

bots ARE guests.

if you block your content, you won't ever get in in a search engine.

Have you heard of the mod "Limited Guest Viewing"?
That's a mod that allows a number of posts viewable before they're asked to register. Suppose it's set to 5. Is it going to stop bots from that? Does that work?

Hm.. I read the discussion. So we should use that mod as well. That's what you mentioned. I guess you're right and you've good experience of that. So what's your forum URL and is it right we should not use that mod?

I think you may be referring to someone else. I don't believe in using it. I think i made that point clear in that discussion.

Members will convert if they want to, and they won't if they don't want to.

All forcing them does is give you 2312312 members with 0 posts, as they simply register to read it as an inconvenience, which puts them off about your site from step 1.
