File size - what is yours set at?

Since Google wont take anything over 50,000 what are you setting your sitemap file size at?

do you go the full 50,000 or do you have better luck with multiple smaller files? I was thinking that if the files were smaller, then you might get a more thorough index. That is just speculation by me though, I have nothing to back it up.

I have had mine set right near the maximum of 50,000 and was worried that maybe that was too large. I was considering dropping mine down to 15,000 or so, but wasnt sure if it mattered.
