Which file do we manually submit to google?

I know google automatically comes in, but if we choose to do a manual submission (for tracking puposes), which file do we submit?

I have sitemap_1.xml.gz submitted to google, but what about the sitemap_index.xml.gz file? which one is the correct one to submit?

From what many of us have found, it's best to add any/all of them. If you have 1, 2, 3, etc, add them all.


Any ideas why Google is avoiding my site?

Yes, you can add it too. Though as long as you add any/all of the others, you don't really need to.

I will make a point to submit the filemaps manually. Do you delete the current? or just add another?

Once you add it, it's there, and will stay there. Don't delete it. Just add the others if the plugin creates more. (ie, when it reaches 50,000 in one file it will split it to 2, and so on)
