Question Do I have a sitemap

Excuse the ignorance but how do I know if I have a sitemap? And if I find that I don't have one, where do I get one that will work with vb 3.8.1? Thank you

    Hi Denise,

There is a seperate (free) product called vBSEO sitemap generator that you can download and install that will create the sitemap for you.

If you are using vBSEO 3.3.2 or earlier you should use Sitemap Generator 2.5 all newer versions you can use Sitemap generator 2.6 Beta 2

OK thank you, before I get the sitemap, can I just patch vbseo or do I have to overwrite everything Brian set for me because it was beyond my comprehension? Or is it just a few files?

    Will it overwrite my settings?

It is a separate product just evolves you uploading the files to your server and then importing the XML file into your adminCP.

Since vBSEO settings now are stored in vBulletin Datastore, Then don't worry about your settings. But you can take a backup from your settings also.

Ahh my apologies for the confusion there, as Marco said your settings should auto save for you, just in case you can create an XML backup in the vbseocp and restore it latter.

Alternatively if you are not happy/confident to do it yourself we do offer an upgrade service for just $27. See vBSEO - Upgrade Service for more information.

Your settings will hold that I set for you.

Check the CRR panel and copy the rules to notepad just in case

And of course, make a backup vbseo_all.xml from the general settings, advanced tab.
