I'm thinking about doing some link exchanges to boost my site traffic. What's the best way to do link exchanges on a forum (that uses vBSEO) so that they do not compromise the SEO ranking of the forum?

The best thing you can do is e mail them and then ask for reciprocal link exchanges. You can also go for purchase links as many forums do offer some links at a very reasonable rate

I am sorry for being new to this and I am not sure exactly where to go to find the answer, but what exactly is a link exchange? Do you just exchange links with someone else? Or how does it work exactly?

Purchase links? There are lots of sites that offers free... Just be patient in looking for them..

Link exchange is an excellent way to prove improve traffic and PR. Try to exchange links with websites that our relevant to yours. You will get a good response for sure if your website has got quality content.

Just had a look around their site and found loads of basic errors, Ie, links not working, bad grammar and spelling and they don't even have an Alexa.com rank, I'd only deal with a company that has a more professional approach, if their own site is poorly done what kind of service can you expect to receive..??
