Link building inside pages

Link building isn't something I've really bothered about (maybe a couple of half arsed attempts). I had a bash today and managed to find some great quality sites willing to put up some links for us.

All my subforums do really well on Google for the subjects they are targetted at. My question is:
Should I just target the frontpage with various phrases, or target the subforums (with subject specific keywords)?

Great question. And I think the answer is both. Target all of your major pages, including your homepage with varied anchor text if possible.

Of course, that is very easy to say... but amounts to quite a lot of work!

Try to promote all major keywords for your forum in anchor text for frontpage and subforum pages...this will help to index your forum pages in less time.....

Target deep pages (create deeplinks). It'll help you more with your rankings because those are the pages with our actual content.

Build 30% to your main and 70% to your inner pages (in your case sub-forums)... Your inner pages will help feed the main and thus why you build more to the inner pages. The deeper links will be a great deal more powerful but at the same time we do not want to ignore the main thus why you build 30% to it ...

I think you must target both the front page and the inside pages. Link building is one of the basic seo activities which are quite useful and must be carried out in order to improve pr and serps. In this case I'll advise you to do the linkbuilding for all you pages whether front or inside as it is ultimately in favor of your site.

I agree. Try to get links back to as many pages as you can within your website. Don’t simply focus your links on the homepage.

Focus more keywords that are related to inner pages, and work on build links to inner pages, to each of the sub topic. Don't link to all the back links for home page.

Link building is a nice way to do a seo..deeplink is also good you must focus on that as you can rank on keyword on homepage you can target more keywords bat try to get a link which is just 3 clicks away from the home page....

When we talk about SEO, we need to concentrate all pages in the website. If we do this our site will be get listed for more keywords in the search engine and the traffic to the site also get increased. We can target 2 to 3 keywords per page and work accordingly for the website. The website also updated with unique and fresh content. Your visitors also get engaged in your site.

Just linking one page to the next is not that effective. If you link page 1 to page 2 then page 2 must contain the keyword you are using for the anchor text. In other words I link to page 2 from page 1 with the keyword "link building" then the word link building must be in the content on page 2...

This is effective inter-linking ...

in case your product requires more attention and it has a complete page created for it then i suppose you should focus on deep linking else targeting the homepage will be okey.
