Link Building

I am about to start a link building campaign. I know lots of different ways to get links easily such as directories and articles and so forth. What I want information on is getting other webmasters to link to you. Basically what I am looking for is what you other webmasters email other webmasters when looking to build links. I am clueless in this matter and all the emails i seem to send out have 0 results. Maybe they just dont like my site yet :(. Also any strats on a aggressive approach to blogs? Let me in on some of the secrets

I get 100 emails a week asking for link exchanges, and each and every one of them goes straight to the recycle bin.

Sites with traffic and PR have zero desire to link to you or swap links.

What you need, is organic links.
And that comes from content. When you make a dang good post about something, it WILL get linked on competing boards. And there you have your natural link-in.

My problem is I have pr and zero traffic it seems. I was thinking of some traffic building methods such as 301 redirects on domains with traffic and so forth. I got my pr from my blog which has still not been updated on the toolbar but in my sitemaps admin it says it is ranking high - med and my forum is ranking low - 0. That being said i will take your suggestion which is what I try to do and write some steller content.

I am planning on doing some testing with Text Link Ads, to see if they can be used effectively to seed some PageRank and boost crawling activity.

They have a promo on now to get $100 in links free. Of course, you have to make an order of at least $125 - so it will cost you $25. But that's not bad for a trial.

I will suggest you to start with directory submission first to obtain some PR then go with the link building campaign.
BTW There are lots of companies providing link building services now days. But be careful before hiring any firm.

I have the pr. Now i just need to find the people to come to my site register and start posting. I am tempted to make multiple accounts and talk to myself but I am currently just adding content with my admin account and responding to the few posts i get. I was thinking of rewarding people for posting and having a referal contest but i think I am still to little for those ideas. Has anyone tried those techniques? If so how did it work for you?

I had a small contest for referrals early on. Had 1 person try to scam me and the whole thing only provided a small temporary boost.

It wasnt worth it to me.

I ran a referral contest for the first month (just ended). It did alright. The second part of the contest is ongoing and will end once ten members reach 150 posts.

or I know of some other webmaster sites that have post exchanges, where you post 10 times on a site, and that admin will post 10 times on your site,, it's a fairly effective way to get some post on your site.
