Ok, i talked to a friend of mine just now who has developed a few more sites related to Delaware. He basically said we can do whatever we want with linking our sites up for the best SEO punch. I know regular old recip. links aren't that great so I figured i would tell you all our situation and ask if you were in my shoes, what would you do to get the best SEO worth out of our sites. My site is: http://www.talkdelaware.com Also (non DE related) http://www.talkpa.net http://www.talkmaryland.net http://www.talknewjersey.net His sites are: http://www.delawareontheweb.com <--biggest link dir for Delaware. http://www.delawarebizbuz.com/ fairly new DE business directory http://www.thechristianamall.com/ biggest mall in DE and highly searched term for DE http://www.comparisonshopping.com/ site he has, has regional sections Now I don't want to take advantage of him, of course, we are sort of partners and trying to kinda triangulate our DE web properties to be the biggest DE web presence (if that makes sense) So what are you guys thoughts? what would you do if YOU owned all these sites, give it to me good bad or indifferent, I think this is a good opportunity for us both to make good things happen. Thanks In Advance, Chase |

your best bet is linking within legit content. ie, make a post on talkdelaware.com about the mall, and within it, link to his mall.com site. |

ok that makes sense for me giving him links cause links in content are the best. what about getting my links on his sites? just a text link? on one page? all pages? anything? his sites are kind of static, websites, not forums so there are no "posts" per say... |

oo should have mentioned our current link stregedy, my bad..... we have had these links going on for a while, months.... on his sites frontpage under the "Search Delaware On The Web" he gave me a link "Delaware Forums" in that text there. Also on his site HERE I wrote a article and he has my link there, he also has my link in the sidebar of all those subpages under the "miscellaneous" block. on my site the link button on the top nav goes to him and the vba block under the slideshow has a link to him in it too. i think that arrangment is good... so i know how i should link his other sites - good will just links on the homepages of his other sites be ok for my links? I should probably change up my anchor text, right? |

im taking the tips from Brian here i think ima make a topic that relates to each of his sites and give him a link in them, and in turn he will probably give me a static link on his pages... |

well we will both get links on each other sites, i dont think it would be a link exchange in the traditional sense though

| Yes, they will be exchanging links. But as Caddy pointed out, it will not be in the traditional sense. The links will be built into content.
