    Hi Tyler,

Regardless of the presence (or absence) of a tag, be assured that the site you mention changed its content to something that placed it in breach of the vBSEO Acceptable Use Policy.

    ACCEPTABLE USAGE POLICY:
You may NOT use the software on any website that contains the following information:

    * info condoning or encouraging terrorism,
    * info promoting or facilitating piracy of intellectual property including software, digital audio and/or video, etc,
    * info promoting any form of illegal activity,
    * any type of material related to pornography, or
    * any type of material promoting racism.
Crawlability/vBSEO are very firm on this policy.

    Not true.
To cut the story short I will post it again.
We did not changed the content of our site at any point after purchasing vbseo.
We have been positively reviewed by vbseo staff, and we follow vbseo rules since the very first day.
any type of material related to pornography
We do not host any pornography on our server. The site is just for adults which doesnt mean obscene. Just read forum rules.

Im still waiting to gain my access all areas back as my account is blocked for one week without any reason.

Am I s'posed to have something next to my name in postbits or in the profile. I don't see either -- not that it really matters to me, but I am curious about it now.

My mistake. It's a staff-only feature to let us easily know who is an owner. I thought it was displayed to everyone. Sorry for the confusion.

No problem. But it used to be visible to all, right?

PS: I just realized what thread I was in and would like this opportunity to apologize to DChapman. I made very harsh statements and accusations that I simply do not feel any more. I've not used Zoints, so I have no real opinion on it. I may have some minor issues with the marketing and technical aspects I'm familiar with, but they are over-shadowed by how wrong I was about David as a person. I am very sorry for much of what I've said in this topic. David is a good guy.

    Hello -
I installed and then removed zoints in less than an hour after seeing how it worked. I feel that all I'm doing is building a 'door' with my forum into their zoints community. Plus, I think that people who use forums are a much more targeted audience than the myspace audience.

For some it could be a good thing, but I don't think it's for me.

You are building a door in a sense, but that door swings both ways.

I have had several new members who came from Zoints, whether they went there form a sig link and came back to register anyway..the point is, my community has seen traffic flowing in through the Zoints Door.

I really dont think this software is an integration to your vbulletin forum. Instead, its a referral program where u get from 1% to 10% of revenue from members who sign up through your forum.

If they allow the blogs to stay with the forum, i would be sold on zoints.
    (www.mydomain.com/seabiscuit instead of www.seabiscui.zoint.com)

And as long as the blogs are handled this way, i dont see any advantages of zoints over myspace.

If you are looking at it through a revenue perspective, you are looking at it the wrong way right now. The revenue sharing is just one small portion of the equation.

What you get is traffic to your site from members of other Zoints enabled forums via the forum directory, and if you have the tags system enabled, via content relevant tags.

I have had members register to 3 of the 4 forums I have active in Zoints and I am getting increased traffic from Zoints since adding the tag mod.

In addition to this, it has become pretty popular for one of my forums, and oddly enought the one that I thought it would be the least popular.

I could care less about the money side of it. Zoints is a business, just like my forums are a business, and we are both in it to make money. I am happy to get the percentage of adsense revenue that I get. Think of it is a stock share (although that is not what it is).

How many Zoints referrals do you get a day on your biggest forum?

I couldn't agree more. We spend most of our time getting members. To provide a way to another site makes no sense to me.

Revenue sharing is useless since smart pricing. I don't need to split a penny with anyone at the possble cost of a member.

I can respect your way of thinking; if I wasn't so personally involved with Zoints, I would likely hold many of the same opinions. That's why we recently introduced Zoints Local. Zoints Local is Zoints, installed on YOUR forum. The blogs are on your forum, the profiles are on your forum, the personalized homepages are on your forum. You create pages, you create blocks, you customize and skin the system to fit the needs of your community

    1-2 per day.

On one of my smaller forums I get 3-4 per day.

I don't expect hight numbers right now because Zoints is still very new (only 300 forums) As the forum base grows these numbers will grow, especially with the thread tags.

I am getting 5~10 referrals a day from zoints tags That is pretty enough for me also since i have an international forum.

Yeah, I just started using the tags very recently, expect to see a continual increase.

I am also getting referrals through the search engines via the zoints tags so that makes it even better.
