I believe the only thing that zoint's seo does while vbseo doesn't is to add an optional per-forum keywords and description.

VBseo does this in its own way, based on forum description and name, or in thread content and tags if you're inside one, but as I said, in the showforum view you might find more useful to write your own desc and list your own keywords. Luckily, you don't need zoints SEO to do this, you still can define a per-forum-keyword and description using another plugin.
