    Question Is XHTML & CSS Validation Important for SEO?

    First of all I know my site isn't XHTML transitional. I 'll work on it this week while upgrading my forum to 3.6.6. But I'm kinda confused after I found vBSEO isn't valid XHTML & CSS transitional! I want to know the answer. Is XHTML & CSS Validation Important for SEO?

    Search Engines don't add any weight to whether or not you correctly closed your <br /> or not. It is a good practice though to try to do this and to move all styling to a css file.

    If you can get designers to think that your stuff is better because it validates more of them will pay attention to you, subscribe to your feed, and link at your site. Otherwise, I believe validation is somewhat overhyped.

    Validation? Please, oh please, make it go away. Validation zealots just plain freak me out. Walking under ladders, breaking mirrors and stepping on cracks probably has more influence on your SERPs than validation.
