Would custom keywords per-forum help or hurt

If i installed this mod, and used custom keywords/description for each forum would that help or hurt the SEO of the pages?

Would it even make a difference since most bots don't even use meta tags anymore? Would it help get more targeted ads on the forumdisplay pages?

The meta descriptions are pulled from the forums description already as it is. So as long as your forums descriptions are optimized, then you are ok.
