At what point is enough - enough

I have been poring over SEO theories, ideas, suggestions for a couple of weeks now. I have been looking at my tools from google and reading reports, and trying different things.

I know SEO is a moving target, but I am having a tough time, making a change and then seeing any difference. I think maybe my forum has just reached its point. Its fairly niche.

Do you see the point of continuing to try and improve SEO. I am of course going to keep adding content, because of my passion for it, but it seems like no matter what I do we stay pretty flat.

    Any thoughts?

How is your traffic, and what type of additional things have you been doing for SEO?

You should definitely consider splitting your time up, and starting to shift some priority into alternative marketing ideas (i.e. non SEO related promotions, etc).

the more content you have, the more words you have to rank for, which makes your SEO work an on-going process to get your new content indexed
