vBSEO more hidden gems?

When I bought vBSEO to make my UK SEO Forum more search engine friendly, the benefit I expected was just a search engine friendly url. Recently, I found out that other inbuilt functions or vBSEO (link back, ping back etc) makes blogs directories such as Technocrati see my forum as a blog, this has brought added benefits in terms of additional links I'm picking up from blogs linking to some of the contents in my forums.

Are there any other hidden gems in vBSEO I have missed? or is my assumption that this is due to vBSEO wrong? The reason I put it down to vBSEO is that I have another vBulletin powered webmaster forum without vBSEO installed, Technocrati does not seem to accept it as a blog like it did with the one with vBSEO

Quite so Mike,
I wonder if you or anyone else could clarify something for me (I'm not an SEO guru). I just read another thread where a member was complaining about link back from undesirable sites. My assumptions is that incoming link from good or bad sites are okay (but naturally you buy/build from good sites) but if not so good sites link to you, it does not benefit you neither does it hurt you, is my assumption wrong?

Bad links to your site should not hurt you; however, do not approve those LinkBacks. Delete them. Only allow incoming LinkBacks from relevant sites.
